Introducing Tamarack Ridge: Foundations Health’s Newest Skilled Nursing Facility

Foundations Health Solutions, Ohio’s largest skilled nursing facility provider, is bringing its quality care and locally-based resources to the Kent-Brimfield area. Slated to open in Fall 2022, the 96-bed facility is called Tamarack Ridge Health and Rehabilitation, and is named after the stand of tamarack trees bordering the property. Tamarack Ridge, as a member of the Foundations Health family of facilities, will become the latest in the company’s portfolio to offer industry-leading services and achieve above-average outcomes. As a locally-resourced, Ohio-owned skilled nursing facility, Tamarack Ridge is sure to please its residents, their families, and our staff. “In an industry where more and more skilled nursing facilities are being bought by out-of-state investors and ransacked to make a quick profit, Tamarack Ridge doesn’t have to cut corners,” said Chuck Hillier, regional administrator for Tamarack Ridge. “We know that it’s important to invest in this property so that it, in turn, invests in the surrounding community.”

With private suites, manicured courtyards, and a spacious therapy gym, the nearly 72,000-square-foot skilled nursing facility will offer both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. The property will accept Medicare, Medicaid, and a variety of insurances.

The well-appointed physical plant is one example of Foundation Health’s investment; another is the staff wages and anticipated retention that will allow Tamarack Ridge residents to receive better care than competitors.

“We’ve done our research and plan to offer competitive wages so that we aren’t as affected by the staffing shortages that are hurting healthcare these days,” Hillier said. “We also focus on hiring a team that doesn’t just work for money. The people we hire will know that they’re responsible for building the foundation of a home for our residents.”

Local vendors that work with Tamarack Ridge will also benefit from working with an Ohio-owned company. Resources spent at the facility will be pumped back into the local economy and invoices will be paid timely. Community initiatives, such as supporting local churches and integrating with nearby universities, are also in the plans for Tamarack Ridge.
